New service available for commuters between PN and Wanganui!
Published: 15 Dec 2016 - - Author: Newsroom
A bus that targets commuters is set to begin next year on February 7th; a service which will run on weekdays and be trialled for two years. Whilst the public have access to this bus, costing $10 per one way ride, it is aimed at UCOL students requiring travel, who receive the service fully subsidised. It will not be possible to book seats however, and will instead be run on a first-come, first-serve system.
As discussed and outlined by Horizons Regional Council Transport Planner, Jayme Anderson, "We are hoping that in opening this up to the public, this will encourage commuters who currently use their own vehicles to utilise public transport and jump on board with the trial."
Although the schedule has already been outlined, as shown below, the service will be regularly reviewed to ensure the times are best suited to passengers.
