WHANGANUI VINTAGE WEEKEND CANCELLED

Whanganui Vintage Weekend scheduled for Anniversary Weekend in January, has been cancelled. It was to be the 10th Anniversary of the event.

Being such a popular event, this will come as a huge disappointment to the people of our community as well as to local businesses, particularly the hospitality sector. The city derived significant economic benefit from what had grown to Whanganui's most popular event.

"The uncertainty around the implementation of the new Covid-19 Protection Framework, and the anticipated timing of mid-January to reach required vaccination levels in our region, means we simply cannot afford to wait until we reach the required 90 per cent level to make a final decision," trust chairman Bruce Jellyman said.
